Major Force Youth Program

The Pittsburgh Major Taylor Cycling Club’s Major Force Youth Cycling Program (MFYCP) empowers Pittsburgh youth through learning the skills of cycling safely on Pittsburgh’s city streets and bike trails and benefits of a healthy lifestyle.  The 10-week program ends with each participating youth receiving the bike that they have trained with as a reward.  Last year’s proceeds, made it possible for 12 kids from the McKeesport area to receive new bikes, receive cycling safety lessons and learn skill building tools to make them safe cyclist.

The video also covers the renaming of the 3-State Ride to the McDermott 3-State Ride honoring Mike and his efforts working with Pittsburgh youth to teach safe cycling skills.
